University Sound UW30

Description

The University Sound UW30 underwater speaker is an economical moving-coil underwater speaker manufactured by Electrovoice, a division of Bosch Security and Safety Systems. The UW30 provides a remarkably uniform (+/- 4 dB) response between 80 Hz – 1300 Hz, with a TVR of 125 dB ref 1 µPa/V @ 1 m. The UW30 is suitable for activities including: synchronized swimming in small home pools, marine biology & environmental impact studies in aquariums and tanks, and relaxation during Watsu (aquatic massage) and flotation tank sessions. The UW30 is not recommended for lap swimming in home or commercial pools, or for synchronized swimming in Olympic pools, as the sound levels produced by this speaker are not adequate for these activities. (For these applications, we highly recommend using the piezoelectric Tonpilz technology pioneered and patented by Lubell Labs, who’s portable LL916C/H and permanent 9484 underwater loudspeakers produce at least 8 times the sound level of the UW30 due to higher efficiencies and power handling.)  The UW30 underwater loudspeaker may be used in tropical to arctic climates in freshwater or saltwater by virtue of it’s high-impact ABS outer case and flexible thermoplastic cable.
